Of Monsters and Men are the Icelandic indie folk/pop musical sensation that’s sweeping the globe. Their newest album, Fever Dream, has been out for a few months now and the band is back in the EU. Of course Sander and I couldn’t pass up the chance to see them live!
I’ve loved OMaM for years now. I remember first hearing them and falling in love with the folky feel of their music and lyrics. There have only been a few bands that I’ve listened to for years. Of course there’s Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco which have been with me since high school. But there’s something hypnotic about OMaM that keeps them on my highest replayed album list.
This current album dives deep into uncharted territory for the group. With a high every twist and an exploratory look into what makes humans… human, Fever Dream is an experience that needs to be listened to and felt.
This was our 2nd visit to Tivoli and once again the venue did not disappoint. The show was sold out but there was still enough room for everyone to enjoy the show. What I love is that the view is always amazing. In other venues I always have a hard time seeing over the heads of the “too tall” Dutch. But here I have no issues at all. In fact the photos I took of this show are the best I’ve ever taken!
The band gave us a great show, full of musical highs and lows. But even the ballads were beautifully executed and clapped to in time with the beat. I hope they come back to The Netherlands because we had a blast!
